TASTESSH guide

Supported scope and precautions

Version and distribution

The baseline is TASTESSH 0.2.70. Current Downloads listings govern available formats; release configuration targets Windows x64 and Linux x86_64. Older macOS arm64 assets do not establish availability/verification for 0.2.21. Packages being provided does not mean every function was quality-verified on every OS/device. Do not infer macOS Intel, Linux ARM or mobile packages.

Desktop versus command line

Desktop usage centers on SSH hosts, authentication, terminals, tabs, workspaces, server monitoring, SFTP, forwarding, snippets, local terminals, serial, logs, synchronization and settings. CLI additionally provides vault/group inheritance, tags, startup behavior, keys/certificates, Mosh, explicitly confirmed plaintext Telnet, import/export, resumable transfers, hashes, permissions, links and snippet packages. Follow the Command-line chapter for commands absent from GUI.

Security and support boundaries

  • SSH host-key verification, user login keys, OS keychain, app lock and sync encryption are distinct protections. The app's entire data is not described as one encrypted store.
  • Public-key installation, forwarding, simultaneous input, startup commands and remote deletion can affect servers. Check authorization and target first.
  • Telnet, serial and local terminals do not automatically become SSH-encrypted communication.
  • Reconnection, tab duplication and split views do not guarantee remote-command restoration or file rollback.
  • SFTP deletion, conflict overwriting and log deletion do not guarantee recovery. Do not treat them as trash or backup.
  • OS keychains, agents, local shells, serial drivers and Mosh programs depend on OS and installed environment.
  • Online update, registration and theme-library behavior depends on connectivity, account and installation method.

Documentation verification scope

Screenshots depict the captured version. Workspace/tab-group images use documentation example data with 0.2.70 source; the remainder were captured in 0.2.18 and 0.2.19. Actual server-connection screens are not included.

After installation, first check the version and test connections, transfers and settings against non-production targets. Report differences through Support with version, OS, feature name, steps and expected/actual results. Do not disclose private keys, passwords, tokens, real internal addresses, business files or unreviewed logs. Release guidance and screen descriptions take precedence for new features and design changes.
